Ma Dong-seok Joins Cast of Chinese Comedy Film ‘Out of Order’

Bet you never thought you’d see 80’s heartthrob turned Creation of the Gods star Fei Xiang, South Korea’s “one punch man” Ma Dong-Seok aka Don Lee and comedian Song Xiaobao all together in one film. No matter how crazy unlikely this combination of actors is, the trio are set to appear for their upcoming comedy Out of Order 窗前明月，咣! out on New Year’s eve.

Based on the English comedy play Out of Order by Ray Cooney, 63-year-old Fei Xiang plays the film’s protagonist Hu Gongping, a top barrister who’s also quite the ladies man. In the middle of a tryst with his current lover She Xiaoman (Fu Jing) the unthinkable happens when a “corpse” suddenly appears. A desperate Hu Gongping calls his assistant Zhu Shiqi (Zuo Lingfeng) in panic, except instead of helping, the situation only gets worst. Meanwhile, Ma Dong-seok’s character Xiong Dali makes an unforgettable entrance in the trailer, literally busting through the doors to catch his ex’s cheating boyfriend in the act. As new characters such Huang Xiaolei’s Lin Luanfeng and Shi Ce’s Shi Shi appear one after the other, the situation continues to escalate. Thus begins a hilarious series of chaos that befalls the film’s crazy cast of characters. Talk about things being out of order! As for the “corpse”, that’s actually Song Xiaobao.

The comedy marks a few firsts for its stars. This is Hollywood actor and The Roundup star Ma Dong-seok’s first Chinese language film and it’s also Fei Xiang’s first ever comedy flick. It goes without saying that this is also Song Xiaobao’s first film working together with these two stars.

Out of Order hits the big screens on December 31, 2024.
