You may have noticed that Jackson Wang took a step back from the spotlight last year. It turns out the talented singer-rapper and song writer was under a ton a stress and battling severe depression at the time. Now that he’s feeling so much better and in a much more positive state of mind, he’s able to look back and reflect on the past year. “It’s all for the best” he said. “I just encountered a lot of problems, but now I feel that my mental health, judgment and frame of mind is in a much healthier state than before”.
His Lowest Point: ‘He Put Too Much Pressure on Himself’
Jackson was recently interviewed with a friend and confessed he took a year off because his mental state was doing very poorly. His time away wasn’t voluntary, he revealed. However, because his poor mental state and depression called for it, he said he had to temporarily take a step back from work.
Meanwhile, his friend also confirmed how he could see Jackson was at the lowest point in his life and how last year was the unhappiest he’d seen his friend be. “He put too much pressure on himself.” At the time, the 30-year-old star had very high expectations for himself but the ideas of the people he’d been with just wasn’t working out. This led to feeling even more pressured to deliver. Jackson’s friend believes overcoming his mental challenges will ultimately lie with him (Jackson) and that the best he can do is to ensure that he’s always on hand to give his support and lend a helping hand to take some of the pressure off.
On a lighter note, Jackson Wang was asked again about how he wanted to be a father before turning 35. He replied affirmatively: “If my partner is willing to have children, I would like to spend more time with the children as they grow up, so I want to hurry up.”
