Fu Xinbo is among the celebrity contestants of Call Me By Fire Season 4. The Chinese actor is one of the dual male leads in Justice in the Dark and more recently played the Eldest Prince in Joy of Life Season 2. Now 37 years old, Fu Xinbo actually made his debut almost two decades ago through a talent show, as he is both a singer and dancer.
But not everyone remembers this, as Fu Xinbo has focused mostly on his acting career these days. In a recent episode of Call Me By Fire, his musical background came up when fellow celebrity contestants recognized the song he hummed as his song. One even looked up the actor and discovered that Fu Xinbo released an album over a decade ago. Hong Kong singer Hacken Lee chimed in looking surprised as he admitted he hadn’t realized Fu Xinbo was originally a singer, thinking of him only as an actor. Fu Xinbo responded that he had a period when he wanted to be an idol.
In case you didn’t know, Fu Xinbo used to be one half of the Chinese boy band duo BoBo. And the other half? None other than fellow Chinese actor Jing Boran. The two competed in the same talent show, with Jing Boran placing first and Fu Xinbo third. Together, they formed BoBo, even taking a syllable from each of their names for the group name. The duo gained fame back in the day with a few hit songs, though rumors suggest a falling out as they haven’t interacted in years.
