It was 18 years ago when Ariel Lin and Hu Ge captured hearts in the 2006 xianxia series The Little Fairy and again as iconic wuxia heroes Rong Er and Jing Ge Ge in the 2008 adaptation of Legend of the Condor Heroes. The two recently reunited for a celebratory dinner. Both actors, now 42 years old, have remained friends over the years.
Ariel Lin’s longtime manager, Julian Chou Mei-Yu (周美豫) who heads up the artist agency Chou’s Entertainment (周子娛樂) in Taiwan, shared the nostalgic moment captioning it, “I took a photo with Xiao Qi (Ariel’s character) and Di Gua (Hu Ge’s character).” Netizens were surprised that the trio who go way back, never had a photo together. Julian Chou who was Ariel Lin’s manager since debut said she felt very sentimental as she watched the two grow up. The post quickly went viral on Chinese social media. Fans of the two fondly remembered their on-screen chemistry from almost two decades ago.
The reunion took place shortly after both Hu Ge and Ariel Lin attended Busan Film Festival and received Best Actor and Actress awards. Netizens can’t help but feel nostalgic. When they’d appear side by side accepting awards in the past, who would’ve thought the two stars would win top acting awards in South Korea at the same time for their respective projects.
There were definitely many Ariel Lin and Hu Ge couple shippers back in the day. While both stars are now married with kids, many appreciate that their friendship has stood the test of time.
