South Korean actors Ma Dong-seok and Park Hyung-sik have been confirmed to star in a new superhero k-drama series titled Twelve. Based on the 12 zodiac animals, the upcoming fantasy series tells the story of 12 angels who live amongst humans, protecting them from evil spirits. Eons ago, they managed to seal away the evil through their sacrifice, ushering in an era of peace. Now that the forces of evil have awakened, chaos is once again unleashed. Gear up for an epic battle as good once again faces off against evil.
Much like his character Sang-hwa in Train to Busan where he sacrifices himself for the greater good to Gilgamesh in Marvel’s Eternals, Ma Dong-seok continues to protect others in his upcoming role as Tae San, the leader of the 12 zodiac angels symbolizing the tiger. Park Hyung-sik meanwhile gets his wish to play a villain as he takes on the role of the crow Ogui, the evil force who reappears thousands of years later and plunges the world into chaos.
Twelve is directed by Kang Dae-gyu who is known for films such as Harmony (2010) and the more recent Pawn in 2020. The fantasy action series is expected for release next year.
