“The Blood of Youth S2” Announced in Addition to “Dashing Youth” Prequel

The Blood of Youth Season 2 少年歌行之南明离火 brings back director Yin Tao and author Zhou Munan to write the screenplay for another Youku live-action series based on the youthful wuxia novel. An animated series of the same name still produced by Youku is also underway. It’s been exactly one year since The Blood of Youth aired last December 26. The show’s expansive world of heroes, which has its own mobile game and animation turned out to be a huge success as a live action series. The show maintains a solid Douban score of 8.3, and continues to earn much love among fans.

The Blood of Youth prequel, Dashing Youth 少年白马醉春风, with an all-new new cast also recently wrapped. The story follows the older generation as youths with Neo Hou’s Baili Dongjun as the main protagonist who simply wants to brew liquor yet unexpectedly becomes a martial artist. He is joined by a number of youths such asa Ye Dingzhi (He Yu), love interest Yue Yao (Hu Lianxin) and Sikong Changfeng (Xia Zhiguang).

Meanwhile, The Blood of Youth Season 2 is expected to continue the story of Xiao Se, Lei Wujie, Sikong Qianluo, etc. as they embark on another adventure and meet even greater enemies. While it’s not official yet, the original cast is expected to return since season 1’s Li Hongyi, Lin Boyang, Ao Ruipeng, Li Xinze, Dai Yanni, Deng Kai and Fan Jinwei all shared the news of season 2 kicking off. However, many are worried that Liu Xueyi’s Wu Xin won’t be back as the actor did not do the same.
