Chen Feiyu and Zhang Zifeng recently wrapped filming for their contemporary drama He Qing Hai Yan 河清海晏. Adapted from a novel of the same name by Ju Zi Bu Suan, it tells a story that blends urban romance with crime solving. He portrays Zhou Haiyan, a drug enforcement officer, and she plays Tang Heqing, a female forensic doctor, two people who find redemption in each other.
In their teens, he stood up to her abusive father and their relationship evolves following a promise. She offered him ten yuan as “protection money” and it becomes a lifetime. In turn, she brings warmth back into his life and he rediscovers his dream to become a police officer. However, fate takes another cruel turn, leading him to work undercover using a false identity.
In the wrap-up photos, Chen Feiyu sports blond hair reminiscent of his look in Lighter & Princess, though this time, it’s to fit his undercover role. It’s the first time the two stars who are around 26 and 25 respectively are paired together. The cast also includes Bai Bingke, Ren Zhong, Wu Junting, Fang Fang, Zhao Da, Hu Jing, Tong Lei and Lai Weiming.
