Endless Summers (爱在无尽夏), starring Ding Yuxi and Meng Ziyi has recently begun filming in Guangzhou. The actor has top billing like he would in most dramas nowadays due to his surname having the fewest strokes. It’s their second collaboration after playing guest stars in Love in Pavilion. Many welcome the reunion of the two stars whose brief pairing won over fans, but also broke hearts over their tragic romance. The two going back to the modern romance genre brings a change of pace after a slew of costume dramas. Ding Yuxi’s last modern romance drama was Moonlight in 2021 while Meng Ziyi’s was six years ago in Rebirth of Shopping Addict in 2020.
In Endless Summers, Ding Yuxi plays Shen Yan, a criminal psychology professor, while Meng Ziyi plays Hao Nian, a media professional. It tells the story of two lovers who were separated by fate for many years and unexpectedly reunite. As memories of the past intertwine with unspoken feelings, they embark on a late-blooming summer love story.
It features a number of special stars that include Myolie Wu, Ke Chun, Gao Zhiting and Cecilia Boey. The main cast includes Kong Lingmei, Bai Bingke, Zhang Wenxin, Li Xiaoqian, Chen Kuixi, Yan Yikuan, K Lu Keran and more.
