Bai Lu has faced criticisms as of late over her behavior and remarks on the popular variety show Keep Running where she is a series regular. Past clips from the show have been making the rounds online, such as Bai Lu jokingly calling Li Chen and Zheng Kai, two of the shows OG members, “elderly guys with strong team spirit”. This led to accusations that “Bai Lu was excluding veteran members” and disrespecting them. It’s gotten to a point where she’s losing followers on social media, but there are also hashtags speaking on her behalf, saying, “what has she even done wrong.” Today, Bai Lu’s The First Jasmine announced its premiere date, and Li Chen just helped promote her newest drama, specifically her character “Ye Li” by posting about it on social media. Bai Lu responded, “Thank you, Brother Chen.”
Aside from remarks, Bai Lu has also been criticized for splashing water at Li Chen’s face, causing him to cough and choke briefly even if it was explained to be just part of the games. Li Chen and Zheng Kai not promoting Keep Running on their social media last week when they used to do so consistently for several years is being interpreted as the two having issues with the show, which has also been accused of reducing their scenes and casting them aside.
Meanwhile, Li Chen publicly supporting Bai Lu’s drama is now being seen as a move to “dispel rumors” of any conflict among the cast. The two have often supported each other such given Bai Lu also repeatedly booked entire theaters to support films starring Li Chen, leading many to believe the alleged conflict was exaggerated and taken out of context. UPDATE May 29: All three have just participated in promoting the show for this week.

How people take joy in being other down is beyond me ! It’s the same way song Ji Hyo would get hate for being who she was and what made viewers love her … so ignore the haters ! To juggle all these dramas and running man china Bai Lu is amazing

I don’t understand why but it seems to me that female MCs on Keep Running always get bizarely hyper critized for the smallest stuff. Its almost like keyboard warriors don’t want a female MC at all in the group. As for the scene she splashed water onto Li Chen’s face: the show has twice had a ‘water splash onto the face’ punishment that ALL the members except for the game’s winner have had to undertake. Just complain at the show’s design not the contestants who are just doing the job. I hope Bai Lu can get some peace and encouragement this year.
