Nana’s Home Intruder Loses Appeal as Court Upholds Seven-Year Prison Sentence

South Korean actress Nana has secured another legal victory after an appeals court upheld a seven-year prison sentence for the man who broke into her home in late 2025. The man, identified by his surname Kim and reportedly in his 30s, was found guilty of entering Nana’s residence and attempting to steal valuables. The incident led to a physical confrontation involving Nana and her mother as they tried to stop the intruder.

The appeals court upheld the seven-year prison sentence handed down in the first trial. During the legal proceedings, Kim denied bringing a knife into Nana’s home. He also claimed he was injured while Nana restrained him and filed a counter-accusation against the actress, alleging attempted murder. At the first trial, prosecutors requested a 10-year prison sentence, arguing that Kim had shown little remorse for his actions. However, the court sentenced him to seven years behind bars. Kim subsequently appealed the ruling, challenging the severity of his punishment. Prosecutors also appealed the decision. After reviewing the case, the appeals court found no sufficient reason to overturn the original sentence and dismissed both appeals.

Nana’s agency Sublime recently issued a statement criticizing Kim for not offering a sincere apology nor showing genuine remorse. They challenged his continued denial that he had brought a weapon into the house, pointing to the evidence and witness testimony presented during the proceedings. According to the agency, Kim had also sent letters to multiple broadcasters and media outlets claiming he had been wronged. The agency hopes that the artist and her family will no longer suffer secondary harm from the incident.
