Nana's Home Intruder Repeats Claim in Court Saying He Was "Attacked", Actress Set to Testify

What was supposed to be a quiet sleep at a luxury villa was disrupted when an intruder allegedly broke into the home of South Korean singer-actress Nana and her mother on November 15 last year. The incident triggered a violent confrontation that has now spilled into the courtroom, and the accused man’s version of events is raising eyebrows.

In the most recent trial on January 20, the 34-year-old defendant, identified only as Kim, appeared in court facing charges of robbery and assault. Kim took the stand and claimed he believed the house was empty and entered only to “take some jewelry.” According to him, he carried no weapon and was instead attacked by Nana.

Kim described how financial struggles led him to search online for celebrity neighborhoods, eventually zeroing in on the area in Gyuri. Spotting an open window, he allegedly used a ladder to climb inside. But things didn’t go as planned. Kim testified that he encountered Nana’s mother in the living room and grabbed her shoulders when she screamed. Moments later, he claimed, Nana rushed in wielding a weapon that he insists came from inside the home, not from him.

Kim submitted a medical report stating that he suffered a jaw injury requiring up to a month of recovery, allegedly sustained while being restrained by Nana and her mother. He even requested his doctor be called as a witness. The court, however, appeared unconvinced, noting that verbal medical testimony alone would be difficult to treat as objective evidence. They challenged whether anyone would truly “stand by calmly” if an intruder broke into their home. The next hearing is scheduled for March 10, when Nana and her mother are set to testify as witnesses.
