"Wobushidashi" Has Li Xian and Li Yitong Face Off with Fortune-Telling Scams

Li Xian and Li Yitong‘s newest drama A Prophet aka Chang Feng Qi, has officially changed its title to Wo Bu Shi Da Shi (我不是大师), which literally translates to I Am Not a Grandmaster. The newest promos come off as being comedic, satirical and also suspenseful based on the plot. It certainly does not sound like the typical Republican era drama, which just made it all the more interesting.

Adapted from the novel I Am a Fortune Teller (我是个算命先生), it follows the story of Shangguan Chengming (Li Xian), a young master from a wealthy family. After his entire family is killed, he hides under an alias and teams up with Jiang Feiyan (Li Yitong) to pull off a series of complex scams to exact revenge on their enemies. And of course, without giving too much away, we have that wedding scene that’s actually a trap, what with a prophecy about a tragedy. Our protagonist Shangguan Chengming then transforms from a pampered young master into a calculating, broody man who fights fire with fire.

It also stars Wu Gang, Guo Jinglin, and Liu Guanlin. The series also marks the second collaboration between Li Xian and Li Yitong following their previous drama Sword Dynasty. The show is rumored for a premiere date on September 23, 2026.
