Guan Xiaotong and Chen Xingxu have completed filming their new drama Love You in the Dark (红掌), which held its booting ceremony in Wuxi on July 16, 2026 and wrapped production on September 13, 2026. Both leads who started out as child actors actually worked together nearly 20 years ago in the 2007 drama The Legend of Meng Li Jun. Now, having “grown up,” the two reunite to portray an onscreen couple for the first time, and new stills of them in formal wear are certainly showcasing their sensual chemistry, what with The Early Spring setting the tone for modern dramas.
Love You in the Dark, also said to be a shorter drama with just 16 episodes, looks ready to bring a darker, more suspenseful twist to the romance genre. It tells the story of psychologist Lu Xizhou (Chen Xingxu) and young painter Meng Lusha (Guan Xiaotong). On the surface, they appear to be the perfect couple, but both are hiding secrets and constantly testing each other. It is helmed by Taiwanese director Huang Tien-jen and written by popular novelist Jiu Ye Hui and Mou Xiaoya.
