F4 members Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, and Vanness Wu joined forces with Mayday’s lead vocalist Ashin for their recent concert, held in Shanghai. The four appeared in multiple outfits throughout; and it looks like Ashin also made the effort to break away from his usual rocker style to go for the “flower boy” look in pink. The four delivered a string of hit songs, including F4’s hit song Meteor Rain.
For their solos, Vanness Wu performed on his guitar, while Vic Chou sang Make a Wish, among others. Fans no doubt became emotional when Jerry Yan recreated an iconic Meteor Garden scene while performing I Truly, Truly Love You. Jerry took out the meteor necklace and placed it on the telescope prop on stage, a tribute to the classic drama scene where Dao Mingsi and Shan Cai watched shooting stars together and exchanged the necklace as a token of love. At one point, Jerry Yan clasped his hands together overwhelmed with emotion, in tribute to actress Barbie Hsu (Big S), the OG Shan Cai, who passed away due to illness in February.
As for Ken Chu, who was absent from the reunion, a netizen posted a photo of Ashin and sarcastically thanked Ken for “leaving” the group. Ken fired back, saying, “Honestly, is it really that hard to capture a decent photo of your idol?”
