Selena Lee and Anson Cha’s Breakup Revisited on “See You Again 5” But Fans Spot Major Red Flags

After more than eight years together, Hong Kong actress Selena Lee and celebrity personal trainer Anson Cha announced their breakup in February 2025. Now, the pair who were once engaged have joined the Chinese reality show See You Again Season 5, which follows couples on the verge of separation to see whether they can resolve their issues. But viewers quickly noticed plenty of red flags.

Back in 2016, at the start of their relationship, Anson seemed deeply devoted, making time to call Selena for one to two hours daily even when he was at his busiest. Yet once they became official, his attention faded. The 44-year-old actress said, “He’s 99% focused on work and leaves only 1% for me and everything else.” When asked why, she gave a bitter smile and said, “Because he already has me.” Anson insisted he still loves her “even now”.

Then came Selena Lee’s health struggles due to autoimmune disease. During her four eye surgeries in 2022, Anson didn’t accompany her since he was too busy with work and shockingly, he got the answer wrong when asked, which part of her body most easily feels uncomfortable, saying “knees” instead of “eyes.”

Then came the proposal. Anson admitted to buying a “very, very ordinary” ring because he just wanted to try, leaving everyone stunned that he’d propose as a test. Later, he upgraded the ring but once again ignored her preferences. Ultimately, Selena ended the relationship as she had said, “Being lonely together is worse than being alone.” Judging by the reactions online, most viewers wholeheartedly agree.
