Next up in the Hidden Love and The First Frost universe is the drama adaptation of Zhu Yi’s modern romance Folding Moon titled When I Meet the Moon 折月亮. A story about second chances, Lin Yi who stole a lot of hearts in the 2019 campus drama Put Your Head On My Shoulder will be playing the genius doctor with a psychological trauma named Fu Shize. Lu Yuxiao meanwhile plays his love interest Yun Li, an engineering student battling social anxiety.
This being a Zhu Yi adaptation, there’s high hopes that When I Meet the Moon will become the season’s dark horse once it’s finally out. After all, both Hidden Love and its sister drama The First Frost have already inspired a couple of remakes and adaptations because of its popularity.
Filming for the modern series is still under way after the show’s boot ceremony in Xiamen on August 2.
When I Meet the Moon Synopsis
To prove to her father that she can live independently, socially anxious Yunli enrolls in graduate school where she unexpectedly bumps into her genius high school crush Fu Shize. Hoping to capture his heart, Yun Li sheds her shy persona to pursue him. For a time, love blossomed between them until differences and old traumas surfaced. In the end, Fu Shize’s pain over his best friend’s passing ultimately forced them apart.
Years later, Fu Shize makes a name for himself as a top researcher in the scientific research field. Yet he has never truly forgotten Yunli. Now that she’s back from overseas, he’s determined to win her back by any means. As the pair gradually lets go of past hurts, it looks like love is sweeter the second time around.
Ranking Concerns
Lin Yi gets top billing over Lu Yuxiao in the drama although it appears this wasn’t originally made clear. This has led to backlash from fans of both actors with Lu Yuxiao’s supporters accusing Lin Yi’s team of “buying the show” and his team accusing the actress’ supporters of fabricating rumours and provoking a fight. Hopefully though, the fan squabble won’t get out of hand as fan wars over billing concerns tend to go.
When I Meet the Moon also stars Lu Yangyang and Li Geyang, Huang Shengchi, Huang Tingting and Xie Binbin, Zhao Penghao and Pei Jiaxin.

Yeah I believe he is her senior. Sometimes these fights are pointless, which begs the question if some folks in production are just using it as buzz to publicize the upcoming drama.
