Two highly anticipated kdramas that recently hit the screens are Im Yoona and Lee Chae-min’s Bon Appétit, Your Majesty and Ma Dong-seok’s zodiac inspired super hero fantasy Twelve. Now that we’re two weeks into both shows, it’s safe to say viewers are lovin’ Bon Appétit, Your Majesty which has already hit double digits in the ratings over Twelve which has yet to do so.
NGL as a Girl’s Generation fan, I was pretty excited to see Yoona back with a drama after King the Land two years ago. And I gotta say, her chemistry with co-star Lee Chae-min is definitely off the charts if that kiss from the show’s most recent episode has anything to say about it. Considering how people were doubtful of his casting in the first place not to mention their ten year age gap as the actor is 24 years old while Yoona is age 35, quite sure those concerns have now been laid to rest what with the way these two are serving up some delicious chemistry onscreen.
Park Sung-hoon from Queen of Tears and Squid Game 2 was originally set to play Yoona’s romantic lead King Yi Heon, but now that we’ve all seen the chemistry between these two, viewers are definitely hooked. From a 4.856% rating in the first episode, those numbers have been steadily increasing to hit 11.063% in its most recent episode – its highest one yet. All I can say is that the weekend (and new episodes) can’t come any sooner.
Twelve Struggles
Meanwhile Ma Dong-seok’s highly anticipated Twelve started out strong but soon lost momentum at just a few episodes in. Despite landing Ma Dong-seok for its main lead and the excitement over Park Hyun-sik playing a baddie for the first time, it still wasn’t enough to sustain interest. Unlike BAYM, Twelve’s ratings unfortunately progressed in the opposite direction, starting out strong as 8.1% in the ratings the first week then steadily dropping down to 3.1% for its latest.
Netizens who claim to have given up watching just a few episodes in said the plot is confusing and weak, and that it’s boring to watch. Hopefully, with more episodes to come, the story will soon pick up and get better.

Applefish
Despite seeing many clips/spoilers on X for BAYM, (trying to delay starting as 2 eps a week is rather painful! N I wanted to wait a bit long, but failed!) and so I started only a few days ago, and I’m loving it! The chemistry was on fire, the cooking was great! N it makes me hungry! It has been a while to see a kdrama that excited all your senses 🤣 the young actor is great! So glad he got the role! He acted so well that I don’t see the age gap! Yoona not only has chemistry with him, but also with her “new best friend”, the girl who has a dog nose, which make it such a great drama to see! And unlike Hollywood, which feel the need to kick men down to prop women up, we have women just support women because of logic and sound commonsense! If someone explained things to you well and seem reasonable, you should follow that person! On a deeper surface, there is a rebellion in the making, n our girl might be the one pushing it forward unknowingly!
