Reply 1988 fans, it’s time to get super excited because a cast reunion of the uber popular hit has been confirmed to be in the works in celebration of its 10th anniversary. Prior to this, a rep from the show revealed that there were plans to create a 10th anniversary special but reiterated that nothing has been finalised yet. However, it looks like the cat is definitely out of the bag now.
According to reports, the cast will appear on Na PD’s Youtube variety show Channel fullmoon (채널 십오야) for a special reunion trip to Gangwon province planned for mid-October this year. Led by series director Shin Won Ho and writer Lee Woo-jung’s production company Egg’s Coming, the reunion trip also aims to rekindle the close friendships between its cast.
Ryu Jun Yeol is Out, Hyeri is In
Fans who’ve following along the doomed romance of series stars Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri are no doubt wondering if they’ll finally see the former couple together again following their breakup in 2023. Unfortunately, whilst actress Lee Hyeri who played Sung Deok Sun is reportedly expected to join the event, her ex Ryu Jun-yeol is supposedly unavailable due to scheduling conflicts. Media reports claim a source said the actor “is fully committed to the filming of his Netflix TV series The Rat. As far as I know, his schedule cannot accommodate other schedules.” Guess we won’t be seeing the two exes interacting together after all.
