A heated debate has erupted online over whether actress Tiffany Tang Yan delayed filming of the 2015 drama Diamond Lover, which starred South Korean superstar Rain as well as Tang Yan’s now-husband Luo Jin and Dilireba as second leads. The controversy centers around conflicting accounts from the show’s producer and the 41-year-old actress’ studio about what happened a decade ago.
Producer’s Accusation Sparks Debate
On June 10, Liu Yang whose real name is Liu Mingyang, one of the producers for 2015’s Diamond Lover, took to social media to claim that Tiffany Tang, the female lead, “arrived one month late” to set, forcing the team to revise its shooting schedule.
His accusations have prompted Tang Yan studio to issue a legal statement. They stated that the actress’s filming schedule had been pre-arranged with the production team. She was reportedly finishing another drama just before she joined the shoot as agreed in early January 2015. The studio further argued that Liu’s claims constituted defamation and announced plans to pursue legal action.
Dilireba’s Second Lead Role Almost Replaced?
Liu Yang also claimed that back then, a boss had asked to replace Dilireba in the early stage of filming, and he convened a meeting with the crew to make sure they keep her. He also claimed that due to the leading actress Tang Yan being “late,” Dilireba had to take on more scenes, missing other opportunities. While Dilireba is now among the most popular stars in China, her role as Gao Wen in Diamond Lover was her first big break.
Meanwhile, Liu Yang is reportedly associated with some companies facing legal disputes. Netizens questioned his motives, wondering why he’d bring up something about a drama from 10 years ago, and believing he may be using the two actresses as a publicity stunt.

Why start talking now after being silent for 10 years? What’s his agenda?

1. He doesn’t benefit anything from telling these old tea
2. Neither actress are premiering their works now
The only reason I can see why he might benefit something from this is if someone pays him to say these things. But the main target might not be Tang Yan and Dilireba.
Yang Mi has upcoming movie premiering, “She’s Got No Name”, and it starred Zhang Ziyi as lead and Zhao Liying as second lead. It looks like this dude is trying to say Tang Yan was jealous of Dilireba and tried to replace her, with Dilireba being Yang Mi’s talent back then and was part of the cause of YM’s drift with Tang Yan, someone may want to borrow Tang Yan’s knife when She’s Got No Name premiere and if YM receives suspicious backlashes, all fingers will point at Tang Yan for buying those hot searches. Nobody knows how good She’s Got No Name is going to be and how well Yang Mi is going to perform, based on the trailers it honestly feels so mediocre, but Zhao Liying was undoubtly very insecure and feeling uneasy. First, ZLY leaked her own photos due to the unsatisfaction how she was styled then refused to join the team at Cannes Festival. Then, she quickly rushed to get 2 roles, “Article 20” and “We Girls”, in which both of the characters are extremely similar to that of Yang Mi’s character in She’s Got No Name. Now that we finally get to see how Yang Mi was styled in She’s Got No Name, undoubtedly it was the role ZLY wanted and fear it would propell YM to newer heigths. When Article 20 and We Girls premiered, Yang Mi was not even related to those ZLY’s films, but the marketing always pull Yang Mi in to make comparisons nonesensely. Now that ZLY is caught dating her director Midi Z in order to land her roles “We Girls” and participate in International Festivals, she can’t use her knife at will like the past no more.
