Ever since Carina Zhang Xinyue married Hong Kong star Raymond Lam in 2019, the Chinese model has continued to face online criticism for her actions. From being deemed an unworthy match for Raymond, to being called a gold digger, she has been at the receiving end of endless censure from Netizens who continue to nitpick her actions. Back in March, the Chinese model was slammed once again for her “unreasonable” treatment of her nanny on her last day of work. This time, Netizens are giving her grief for photoshopping out the hotel’s logo and making it appear like Raymond specifically prepared a romantic surprise for her.
The photo in question was Carina’s recent post of a heart shaped balloon on the beach which said “loving you is so romantic”. Netizens who are familiar with the balloon bashed her for editing out the hotel’s logo from the heart. They claim she’s making it appear that herself and her husband were on a private and exclusive romantic date he had prepared for “I love you” (五二零) day. However, the heart-shaped balloons were actually a check-in point set up by the hotel.
Netizens are Overthinking It?
Despite her many bashers, other Netizens defended her move saying removing the logo was necessary so that it didn’t appear to be an ad. Others also said perhaps people have gotten a little too carried away with their speculation. “I feel like those who come here to criticize are really just jealous. She usually just posts what they ate and drank, they’re not bothering anyone.”
Another one pointed out how people are taking things out of context. “Is it necessary to speculate so much when someone takes a picture? Can’t they just like the love heart? Did that have to mean they stayed in this hotel just for a photo? And in an expensive hotel too? If they like things like this, that’s their business, and they get along as a couple. It’s none of your business.” Later, Carina thanked the Netizen for their comment and confirmed they just went there for dinner and even recommended the place for their delicious dishes.

I would think removing the hotel name is more for safety especially if she posted it while they were still there!
