Be Passionately in Love (陷入我们的热恋) has officially announced its premiere date: May 28, 2025, on Tencent. Starring Liu Haocun and Wang Anyu, this campus romance follows the cool and sassy “President Zhi,” an aspiring architecture student, and the “poetic” Mr. Chen.
Based on the popular novel by Er Dong Tu Zi (耳东兔子), the story is set in the southern city of Qingyi, where Xu Zhi (Liu Haocun) and Chen Luzhou (Wang Anyu) first cross paths. Their constant bickering gradually blossoms into something deeper. Just as things heat up: he’s sent abroad while she heads to Beijing for university.
The push-and-pull—Xu Zhi’s bold pursuit vs. Luzhou—makes their dynamic a delight to watch. A misunderstanding adds to the chaos: the super-confident Xu Zhi chases after Luzhou, or so he believes. Everyone thinks she has a boyfriend, but Xu Zhi actually suspects Luzhou might be her long-lost brother. How could he possibly have known?
Following his strong performances in Romance in the Alley that paved the way for the successful pairing with Guan Xiaotong and the emotionally layered Such a Good Love with Wang Yuwen, Wang Anyu returns with another modern drama. Liu Haocun, too, makes her return to modern dramas two years after Derailment. This looks like it’s in the “tianchong” (sweet romance) genre—hopefully giving us the feel-good love story we’ve been waiting for.
