Wajijiwa Boss Long Danni Backs Artists Dating But Draws a Hard Line at Cheating

Wajijiwa Boss Long Danni and Mao Buyi

In an episode of the variety show Mao Xue Woof 毛雪汪, Wajijiwa head honcho Long Danni shared she’s very supportive of her artists being in relationships because “love is something that a person must experience growing up”. Being in love is well and good; however, she says she draws the line at cheating.

Danni and Wajijiwa artist slash Produce Camp mentor Mao Buyi sat down for a chill dumpling-making session with other celebrities. After their handmade dumplings were served, the Chinese singer-songwriter asked his boss for her thoughts on artists dating. Long Danni said she’s totally supportive of her artists being in relationships. As long as they respect morality and don’t cheat on their partners, there’s nothing wrong about having a serious relationship. So adamant was she about this that she even asked Chinese musician and producer Zang Hong Fei to set up Mao Buyi with potential girlfriends. However, she advised the singer that it’s better for celebs to keep a low profile to protect their privacy.

As far as celebrities and idols go, Danni’s unexpected take is definitely an exception from the usual “ban” on stars falling in love since it ruins the fantasy relationship between the idol and their fans which agencies hope to maintain.  It’s certainly refreshing to see an industry boss being supportive of the artists they represent, especially as it’s widely known that a lot of agencies discourage their charges from falling in love or being in romantic relationships for fear of it negatively impacting an idol or celebrity’s image. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s even written in their contract somewhere.
