Chinese actor Hans Zhang Han has officially broken his nearly three-year social media silence. In his caption, he revealed that he recently suffered a fracture, which has forced him to take things slow while focusing on recovery. The 40-year-old actor explained that despite not updating his social media, he had been fully engaged in life, embracing new experiences. He described himself as “racing against himself” and expressed his determination to continue challenging and improving himself in the future.
Hans Zhang’s return follows a humorous post on March 20, where he joked about finally recovering his Douyin (China’s TikTok equivalent) login password. Fans reacted with excitement, welcoming his comeback. His last social media post was on September 6, 2022, when he was promoting his self-produced drama Gentlemen of East 8th. The series faced intense backlash due to its problematic scenes towards women, earning a dismal 2.2 rating on Douban. The controversy severely damaged Zhang Han’s reputation, turning his once-handsome image into meme material Netizens made a mockery out of. Following the backlash, both his personal and studio accounts went silent.
However, his performance in the 2023 drama Stay Young, Stay Passion helped turn things around, eventually earning him a nomination for Best Actor at the 32nd China Golden Eagle TV Awards in 2024. Now, it looks like he’s also ready to reclaim his place on social media.

what i heard was that when he filmed a drama, he inappropriately grabbed the lead actress in an inappropriate place of her body. it was captured on video or something. The actress or someone spoke out about it.
Jj
he groped the FL breast in the drama being broadcast.he is also the script writer and producer of that drama.

I used to like some of his dramas, but I stopped watching him from that incident. That was terrible and unprofessional period!
HL
His drama just demo the sexisim many local Chinese men of his generation practise. They think they actions are still cool. It was really unsightly to watch.

Well, isn’t film and drama supposed to reflect real life, even the disgusting bits? We all know the majority of men in those kind of circles behave like that. They have mistresses on the side too. For that drama, was the inappropriate action a surprise to the co-stars? Was it not already discussed and rehearsed if it actually made it to production? Every scene requires a few takes. If the female co-star did not agree, she would have protested the first time he did that whether it was during rehearsal or actual shooting, probably given him a slap. Did the female co-star file a complaint? Just curious.

@ Kai
I’m assuming he did it and it wasn’t included in the script. Also they said he did something similar to another actress before.
Ellie
@Kai Making excuses for the perpetrator and putting the onus on the victim when his foul hands and content are caught on camera. Women aren’t going to speak up because it will hurt their careers. Even though they can expect to be around pigs, it doesn’t make it ok. Your thinking is how people like Weinsten and Cosby got away with everything for so many years.
Kai
Hello. And your way of thinking is exactly what you accused others of. Biased, prejudiced, assuming the “victim” is always the pure and innocent one, jumping to negative conclusions at everything. Is asking questions to get at the objective truth not allowed. Did I ever said it wasn’t on screen? I was asking what happened beyond what you see on screen? Heck, I don’t even know which drama that was.
If you want to equate it Hollywood, then, sexual assault, physical assault, racism, killings are regularly shown on screens, big and small, in all the gruesome details every day. Were you so offended then? Or wish to condemn the actors and actresses?

@ Ellie
Exactly! If more people support/believe the victims – there will be more of these sickening monsters get caught. The victims will be more likely come forward.
Kai
So, in this case, did anybody else come forward? Did the actress lodge a complaint? There were many months between actual shooting of scene and broadcasting of show. Was it the actress who complained or just the audience reaction?
