Ding Yuxi and Esther Yu, the popular onscreen couple from Love Game in Eastern Fantasy, have once again captured the spotlight, but this time it’s not for their drama roles. The two just walked the red carpet together at Tencent Video All Star Night 2024. And even those who were blaming showrunners for not seating them together couldn’t help but be all smiles at the two stars’ subsequent interactions that had netizens joking with the hashtag #Esther Yu and Ding Yuxi must’ve forgotten to officially announce (their relationship)# (#虞书欣丁禹兮是不是忘记官宣了#).
After all, many were shocked when during Esther Yu’s acceptance speech just before she was done speaking, Ding Yuxi suddenly rushed all the way from his seat to her side, just to offer a helping hand as she made her way off the stage. His swift action sparked hilarious reactions from fellow celebs, and social media quickly erupted with fans squealing with delight.

The reactions from other celebrities were equally entertaining. The Double star Wang Xingyue, was captured on cam initially nonchalant, but once he realized what was happening, his reaction went from holding back a smile to having the biggest grin as he started clapping. It looks like the cameraman couldn’t resist cutting to Esther Yu’s former co-star Zhang Linghe, who also couldn’t help but smile.
Meng Ziyi and Li Yunrui, another popular onscreen couple thanks to their drama Blossom had their moment onstage when they were asked to describe each other and they called each other cute (seriously, they are both super cute). While seated together, they shared a quiet laugh of their own. It almost seemed like Ding Yuxi’s The South Bureau co-star Zhang Xincheng was encouraging them too as the three who were seated in front while Ding Yuxi and Esther Yu walked by gushed about the moment. As if once wasn’t enough, Ding Yuxi went to escort Esther Yu again during the second time she went onstage to accept an award. Jin Jing who was hosting said, “the boy’s such a giver.”
On a night when Li Mingde’s controversial statements seems to have overshadowed the awards show, Tencent’s drama couples were certainly giving and trending on their own.
