Popular actress Zhao Lusi has stopped all work after news of her falling ill. A friend of hers came forward to reveal the 26-year-old actress is slowly able to speak and stand up. However, she said it’s not her place as Zhao Lusi’s friend to reveal the truth. On December 31, new revelations surfaced about Zhao Lusi’s traumatic experience in 2019, where she was allegedly verbally and physically abused by her company’s boss. The news, revealed by a close friend with the actress’ consent, ignited widespread outrage, quickly becoming the top trending topic online.
Shocking 2019 Allegations
The incident reportedly occurred in April 2019. Zhao Lusi, then 21 years old, was staying at a friend’s house in Beijing during auditions. Returning home one night, Zhao’s friend discovered her curled up in a dark corner of the living room, visibly shaken. “She kept saying, ‘I don’t know why I was hit. I’m scared,’” the friend recounted and said that Zhao Lusi’s boss dragged her into a bathroom, reprimanding her for two hours over a failed audition saying things like, “she’s fat or not as good as others, to bring her down.” When she was about to go home, her boss allegedly chased her and hit her, dismissing the incident the next day with the excuse of being drunk.
Zhao’s mental health deteriorated with recurring nightmares and emotional trauma. Fans have rallied behind her, expressing outrage and demanding accountability.

Zhao Lusi’s friend Zhu Rui also took to social media to express her frustration at those attacking Zhao Lusi. She praised Zhao’s current manager for treating her like family and helping her feel happier compared to before. While everyone is concerned and working to resolve the situation, Zhao needs time to rest before addressing the issues. The friend shared how Zhao once supported her during her own experience of bullying and emphasized that fans’ love gives Zhao strength. She also criticized those calling for Zhao to quit, highlighting her hard-earned success and resilience.
Meanwhile, she shared a screencap of a conversation from December 22 with the actress that also trended today. Zhao Lusi had asked Zhu Rui when she was coming to Hangzhou. As they were coordinating, she had typed the words, “Save me.”

My gosh, this is horrible 😢 For someone as popular as she is, can’t believe she had to keep this secret all this time. So many actors and actresses get mistreated in the c-ent entertainment but I’m just so shocked bc she genuinely looks so positive and happy all the time. And her drama Pearl Girl just came out too.

I agree with you, I am big fan of hers and kept seeing loosing to much wait as look unhealthy. I support her and her friend for speaking up. Her former boss should go to jail and not work in the industry. I praying for her as her journey for recovery. Happy New Year! You know they say out of bad, comes good! Maybe this will shine more attention on these kind of issues in the Chinese entertainment world. I am sure Luisi is not the only one this has happened to. Expect more out of the people these actors trust with their careers. Look at the terrible things that have happened in the Hollywood entertainment business. Make the entertainment industry a healthier environment for individuals who choose to do this for their careers/jobs. This is not their lives. One of my favorite psychologist says go to your job, work your best for the day, and go home! This is not your life!!! Right on!!!!!

There are always 2 sides, sometimes 3 or 4 sides to a story. There are always fabricated stories. There are always half-truths. There are always storms in teacups. Until properly verified , I would take any sensational story that comes out of the entertainment industry with a tablespoon of salt.

Poor Lusi!
I applaud her courage for coming out with this, because she’s a proud person, and I know she never would reveal this unless forced by circumstances. So I’m inclined to believe that she has suffered abuse which has damaged her psyche. I’ve seen so many instances of celebrities struggling with their mental health and battling depression, and them not being taken seriously by the public and keyboard warriors who berate them for speaking up, or even worse, even calling such celebrities, attention wh0res. I’ve seen such celebrities end up committing suicide when they couldn’t cope anymore . So when one musters the courage to speak up about their severe mental health issues, I’m inclined to believe them 100 percent.
Hoping and praying that she overcomes it and comes out stronger. She should prioritize her health first and do all she can to live well. She has my support and I’m sure there are many others like me who wish her well and want the best for her.
