It looks like on again off again couple Sun Xing and his Malaysian actress ex Stephenie Lam Mei Ching are back together again. The couple had been together for twenty years and have a son named Sun Heng. Earlier in the year, it was reported that the couple have split and that the Hong Kong actor has a new partner. However, an unexpected Christmas Day post from Mei Ching confirms they are giving their relationship another chance. Dare we say third time’s the charm?
Looking quite festive with a Rudolph inspired headband complete with a red nose, Mei Ching shared this holiday season was “indeed a very different one”.
Previously, Taiwanese media have already been speculating that the pair had gotten back together after they were spotted vacationing in Thailand. Taiwanese outlet Mirror Weekly also reported that Sun Xing served as Lam Mei Ching’s personal assistant whilst filming a movie in Taiwan. Later, Sun Xing admitted through his agency that he had quietly broken up with his girlfriend and has rekindled his relationship with Mei Ching.
Fans will remember Sun Xing as a Hong Kong actor who gained popularity in Taiwan with roles like Yang Xiao in Hevenly Sword and Dragon Saber. In 2011, Sun Xing’s career took a significant blow when he was arrested in Beijing for drug use and possession, which led to his exclusion from the entertainment industry. Despite this, he managed to rebuild his life. Sun Xing whose now in his sixties also revealed he’s now a father-in-law. The actor who also has two kids from his first marriage to writer Pan Yang previously made headlines as his 35-year-old daughter Tong Tong’s husband, age 61, is a year older than Sun Xing! Sun Xing even humorously greeted his son-in-law with, “Uncle, hello.”
