Shao Zi Heng, a Chinese trainee under Warner Music China, is among the contestants of the South Korean-Chinese survival show Starlight Boys. It’s the newest show from the makers of Youth with You that’s presented under iQIYI international in collaboration with SBS. The 20-year-old aspiring idol who’s also a former SM trainee recently caught attention due to his good looks and captivating performances on the show. He started out ranked first and remains within top 3 in subsequent episodes. Shao Zi Heng further trended after many realized he’s the son of Chinese model-actor Shao Bing and actress Zhang Pei. While he hasn’t even debuted yet, Shao Zi Heng suddenly found himself facing intense scrutiny after a woman claiming to be his girlfriend shared alleged records of their private messages.
On November 10, a netizen posted alleged screenshots of messages exchanged with Shao Zi Heng as well as a record of transfer that appears to show his name. She reportedly met him at a club, and they had been romantically involved. The messages also included Shao allegedly asking her to delete his contact information and expressing his intent to “focus on studies,” which some online commenters found amusingly typical of excuses used in breakups.
The timing of this revelation has left many questioning the motives behind the leak and how rumors are starting over alleged convos without photos or anything else to back it up. Some feel this might just be an ordinary breakup if the relationship began before Shao’s fame. Others feel there’s more to it igniting the hashtag about Shao Zi Heng’s reputation “collapsing” even before he could debut.

well, these idols sell the image of celibate bf to these fandoms, so obviously having a tainted/imperfect love life could impact his votes. its their choice whether or not to vote for him. trainees have fallen for lesser things. idol path means walking into the lions den for fame. wish fans were more mature but they’re not.
