Show Lo Gives Advice as a Mentor: Don't Be Like Me, Made a Mistake

Singer and performer Show Lo who earned a bad rep following a very controversial breakup with his ex-girlfriend in 2020 has slowly made his way back to the public eye. Most recently, the 45-year-old star appeared as a mentor on the Taiwanese-Korean boy group survival show SCOOL. Show Lo led a special “bootcamp” session; however, his advice to the trainees was not limited to technical skills; he shared a crucial lesson from his own experiences in the entertainment industry, emphasizing the importance of an idol’s public image and integrity.

Show Lo urged the trainees to “cherish their feathers”—a metaphor for preserving one’s image and reputation. Reflecting on his journey and the price of fame, he explained, “Don’t be like me, made a mistake. The louder your cheers are today, the louder the boos will be if you are not careful and make a mistake.”

In the past, Show Lo faced public backlash after his then-girlfriend, internet celebrity Grace Chow, accused him of being a serial cheater and engaging in orgies throughout their relationship. The scandal led to a major fallout, forcing Lo to take a hiatus from his flourishing career in Chinese entertainment. Now that he’s rebuilding his career in Taiwan, it looks like he hasn’t shied from mentioning his past controversy. With his own turbulent past as a cautionary example, Show Lo emphasized that idols rely on their supporters and fans and must, therefore, give their all to each performance and public appearance.
