Jung Ho-yeon and Lee Dong-Hwi Confirm the End of Their Nine-Year Relationship

Sad news for fans of celebrity couple Jung Ho-yeon and Lee Dong-Hwi as the pair have just confirmed their split through a statement via their agencies. “Lee Dong-Hwi and Jung Ho-yeon have decided to return to being good colleagues” in their statements released today, November 26. The former couple had been seeing each other for nine years.

Jung Ho-yeon and Lee Dong-Hwi began dating back in 2015, keeping things mum until they officially went public a year later. Though they both remained hyper focused on their growing careers, the couple did not shy away from publicly expressing their support and love for each other. When Ho-yeon hit it big and became an international star with Squid Game, Lee Dong-Hwi was a super proud boyfriend. When he appeared on the variety show Kwak Taxitrip 2, he proudly said that the actress playing female protagonist Kang Sae-byeok was his “girlfriend and best friend” to a taxi driver he’d met in LA who was familiar with the award-winning Netflix show.

Both actors are currently busy with new projects on their plate. Lee Dong-Hwi who played the lead role of Kim Sang-sun in the MBC drama Chief Detective 1958 which aired in May is set to appear as Gerd Wiesler in the play The Lives of Others which opens on November 27. Meanwhile, Jung Ho-yeon who started as a model, recently appeared in the psychological thriller Disclaimer which stars Cate Blanchett. She plays Cate Blanchett’s assistant Jisoo Kim in the series.
