Hong Kong actress Akina Hong Wah, celebrated for her youthful appearance and vibrant spirit, recently attended a promotional event for the TVB drama Rosy Business 4: No Return. During the event, she joined her co-stars in fun onstage activities. In a playful moment, co-star Nancy Wu handed her a flower, prompting Akina to exclaim, “I haven’t received flowers in so long!”
Akina revealed that it’s been nearly 20 years since someone last gave her flowers, explaining, “I think it’s been over a decade, maybe twenty years! When I was young, I’d receive flowers, but now, I rarely do. I usually buy flowers for myself or gift them to others.” She added, “Of course I love flowers! Who doesn’t? It’s the thought that counts, and any flower is lovely.”
Known for her iconic villain roles and eventually finding success in mainland China, the 52-year-old actress returned to Hong Kong about a decade ago to care for her parents. Despite her busy schedule, friends and family have been eager to set her up with potential partners. Laughing about her love life, Akina shared, “My relatives and friends are always introducing people to me! Work has been my focus, but I’m ready to put some energy into this part of my life too. I’ll devote myself and work hard, don’t worry. I’m sure there will be good news—stay tuned!”
