Oh wow! In the blink of an eye, can you believe Sun Yi’s little girl, nicknamed Dafu (大福), is now 7-years-old? After all, wasn’t it just yesterday when she was a baby, and then a wee little toddler building a snowman in winter? Sun Yi recently shared a quick snap of her super adorable daughter sporting two braids and a white top. “Diary: I gave her a bag of spicy noodles today. It was her first time eating it. After eating a mouthful, she immediately guzzled some water. It was so spicy she was drooling. So cute.”
Since giving birth at 24, an age considered quite early for an actress, the proud mom would share glimpses of their life with the little tyke from time to time. One time she shared how she’s not good in English so Dafu has been learning the language since she was little. There’s also a funny little instance when she shared how her daughter paused right in the middle of reading out an English story and how that pause got her thinking for a moment that she might’ve wasted her money on lessons. Even after separating from her ex, the actress continues to share updates of their happy “mum and daughter” bonding moments.
Looking back at their relationship, Sun Yi and Dong Zijian first met whilst working on a project together. Despite initial resistance from his mum, Sun Yi and ex-husband first went public with their relationship back in 2016. The celebrity couple then married in May 2017. A few months later, Sun Yi gave birth to their adorable little girl in September 2017.
Sadly, the marriage only lasted 5 years. In August 2022, the former couple announced their split saying it was a decision they made together. The couple remains adamant though that they will co-parent their daughter together.
