In a deeply personal message, Zhang disclosed details about the ongoing legal battles that have forced him to temporarily suspend his acting career.
A former friend turned enemy
Zhang Haowei revealed that the controversies surrounding him stemmed from a financial dispute with someone he once considered a close friend. This individual allegedly made false claims against Zhang, leading to a widespread scandal. However, Zhang has now publicly shared key documents, including case filings, mediation records, and proof of no criminal record, to clear his name.
He expressed his frustration with the situation, stating, “The disturbances in recent days have some results at this stage, and I would like to explain this to everyone. The person who created this incident was someone I grew up with. We became enemies because of a financial dispute, and finally ended up with him making false reports about me. Thanks to the police, there was a quick result after I reported the case.”
He goes on to detail his commitment to seeking justice. “But public security punishment is not enough. I will also sue for compensation and punish the fraudsters. I will fight to the end even if the lawsuit lasts for several years.”

The actor also acknowledged the toll the recent incidents have taken on his personal and professional life, describing August 2024 as the darkest period he has ever faced. “I was blackmailed by a gang, harmed by my childhood friend, and bullied online. But I also reflected deeply that this incident exposed some of my own problems. I also apologize to the general public here.”
To address these challenges, Zhang Haowei has decided to pause his acting career indefinitely. He plans to focus on resolving the legal issues and providing a thorough explanation to the public. “Apologizing alone is not enough. I decided to complete the remaining work from today, and then temporarily stop new work. I will use this time to close out these cases and lawsuits as soon as possible, give the public an explanation, and use legal means to protect my rights.”
In closing, Zhang reassured his fans and the public that he is committed to personal growth and correcting his mistakes. “In the future, I will manage myself carefully, correct myself, and be a dignified person.”
