The Xiamen-born actress Rosina Lam who’s made her name in Hong Kong television has recently wrapped the Chinese drama Legend of the Magnate 大生意人 where she’ be making a friendly appearance. Known to be cousins with Raymond Lam, perhaps not everyone knows her connection with Chen Xiao who headlines the costume drama. The two graduated from The Central Academy of Drama 15 years ago. Despite the years between then and now however, it appears their friendship remains unchanged. Wherever in the world work takes them, the pair always made sure to cheer each other on. No wonder they’re pretty excited to be working alongside each other for this project!
A Meaningful Experience
Rosina shared working on Legend of the Magnate was a very meaningful experience for her. Aside from the opportunity to work with her good friend and old schoolmate Chen Xiao on the project, she said her role playing the Cixi, better known in history as Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing Dynasty, was quite exciting. Speaking of playing the formidable dowager empress, doesn’t she look striking in the new stills shared by the production? Rosina said working on costume historical felt like a dream come true and that rehearsing her scenes took her back to her uni days doing her homework.
Moreover, the 37-year-old actress said that just like uni, working on the project also had her making quite a lot of new friends. She also thanked the director and everyone else working on the drama for taking care of her and expressed her excitement about working together once again. Before Legend of the Magnate, Rosina Lam just wrapped up work for Hong Kong drama Darkside of the Moon.
