“The Legend of Heroes" Concludes Halfway with "Hot-Blooded," Many Ask Where's the Continuation?

The 60-episode Legend of Heroes 金庸武侠世界, adapted from Jin Yong’s The Legend of Condor Heroes, is as classic wuxia as you get. Its first part, Hot-Blooded, tells the story of Guo Jing, Huang Rong and his blood brother Yang Kang and Mu Nianci. The latter’s couple pairing played by Wang Hongyi and Huang Yi drew some buzz but also drew backlash over the actor seemingly giving his co-star the cold shoulder during a recent presscon. While ratings did not fare as hoped, the show has its fans. It recently concluded Hot-Blooded, which lasted 30-episodes. Many wonder what will happen to the rest as there are 4 more parts left, which make up 30 more episodes.

Some speculate that it’s due to ratings that the remaining parts were “pulled out” from airing as the series produced by Youhug was expected to air on Tencent. However, others say it’s simply due to China’s rules that a drama series with more than 40 episodes would need to adopt a seasonal format. The remaining parts feature a number of stars that fans look forward to such as the story entitled Nine Yin True Sutra, helmed by Taiwanese director Tsai Yueh Hsun, which features actress Meng Ziyi as Mei Chaofeng. For now, fans can only wait as the series which was already shot in its entirety waits for an air date.
