Actress Xu Jiao was basically discovered by Stephen Chow when she starred alongside him in the 2008 sci-fi film CJ7. It also turned out to be the last movie the comedy legend acted in before he decided to stay exclusively behind the camera. Earlier this month, Xu Jiao attended an event in Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay to celebrate the movie’s 15th anniversary where she revealed that she actually managed to catch up for a meal with Stephen Chow. As it turns out, there’s more in store for the two of them.
On September 19, industry insider Chris 陳震宇 revealed that the actress has signed with Stephen Chow’s Star Overseas 星辉. The actress was previously already an artist under his agency. She took a break from acting in recent years and just finished studying abroad in the US. On her return, she writes, “I’m back!”
Stephen Chow also shared a photo of their little reunion where he holds CJ7 plush gifts in front of her while she posed for the camera. He shared that he never fears anything, but when they saw each other again, he was truly shocked. He writes, “the mischievous boy from CJ7 has turned into a beautiful lady.” Although it’s been a while since Stephen Chow produced a movie, the 61-year-old who’s become very active on social media lately has been teasing possible projects. Perhaps a CJ7 sequel?
