Four years after giving everyone a peek at their life as a newly-married multicultural couple, SBS announced that Choo Ja Hyun and hubby Yu Xiaoguang will be returning for another round in the variety show Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny. They are scheduled to appear in the show’s 300th episode and is said to have already finished recording the reality TV portion of the show.
They’re Back!
Choo Ja Hyun and Yu Xiaoguang met whilst working on the same Chinese drama back in 2012. After keeping their relationship pretty private, the couple went public in 2015 and married in 2017. When they first went on Same Bed, Different Dreams in 2019, the couple gave everyone a glimpse at the life behind the scenes between a Korean and Chinese couple who are both known actors in their respective countries. The couple also opened up about their experience pregnant with their son Bada or Dahai as he’s known in Mandarin in the show. What endeared them both to audiences however are the scenes of Yu Xiaoguang attempting to express his love for his wife in broken Korean whilst wife Choo Ja Hyun nagged her hubby in fluent Mandarin!
Addressing Her Husband’s Scandal for the First Time
Yu Xiaoguang was embroiled in a scandal in 2021 after he was papped leaving a bar with a woman who then sat on his lap in the car. Back then, there was an outpour of support for his wife. While she rebuked his actions, she also spoke up for him to explain that the woman is a familiar friend. In the newest trailer for Same Bed, Different Dreams 2, Choo Ja Hyun addresses the incident when she said, “It’s also my first time talking about this, those who know will know, something bad happened the year before causing controversy, because of a rash action, many people were disappointed “
Nonetheless, it seems the couple were able to put the past behind. The trailer also reveals many scenes with their little boy. Catch the updates on their life as they appear on the show’s 300th episode airing on July 17th !
