Thanks to a recent sighting, today’s flashback Friday is brought to you by the beautiful actress Charlie Yeung Choi-Nei (楊采妮). Some of you might know her and some of you might not. At the height of her career during the 90s, the 48-year-old Hong Kong star was well-known for her beauty. Charlie was almost everywhere from print ads to the big and small screens with the whos who of the Hong Kong entertainment industry such as Cantopop’s Heavenly Kings Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung. She also collaborated with famed director Wong Kar-Wai and worked with industry heavy hitters such as Jackie Chan, Tsui Hark, Brigitte Lin, Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung just to name a few. Since moving out of the spotlight in 1997 (and her small comeback during the noughties) however, nowadays very rarely does she make a public appearance.
Whilst it has been close to twenty years since her last big screen appearance in 2004’s New Police Story, a recent sighting of Charlie attending a jewellery exhibition in Kaoshiung reminds us once again why she renowned for her beauty. Because despite the years, Charlie’s one of those actresses that appear to have aged in reverse and she still looks fantastic!
Charlie Yeung shares twin boys with her Singaporean husband Khoo Shao Tze whom she married in 2013. With her family as her first priority, Charlie said when she went to Taiwan for work this time that she was really hoping to bring her husband and her kids along with her to Kaoshiung.
