Darren Wang Talu, 31, and Joey Chua, 28, have long been rumoured to be in a relationship. Today, the pair sweetly introduced each other as boyfriend and girlfriend. It seems they will be appearing as a couple in what looks to be a sports themed variety show. Sharing the same poster with the words “Letting Love Stay Alive” written behind them, Joey captioned the post “Is there any other sport that my boyfriend can’t excel at? @TaluWang” wrote Joey. Likewise, Talu wrote the exact same thing, except he switched up the word to girlfriend and tagged Joey.
Previously, the Malaysian-born singer-actress caught a lot of attention from her stint in 2020’s talent survival show Youth With You 2. Although she didn’t quite make it into the finals, her sweet smile endeared her to many. Joey also opened up about her failed marriage and her subsequent divorce when she was just 25 in the show. Joey later joined the reality blind dating show A Journey for Love where divorced female celebs were paired up with potential partners. Whereas things technically didn’t quite work out when it came to matching with the candidates on the show, it’s where she met Taiwanese actor Darren who was also part of the cast.
Rumours that Darren and Joey were dating began swirling early last year. Later in May, the pair all but confirmed the relationship when they were spotted stealing kisses and acting super affectionate towards each other by paparazzi. Later, Darren was seen carrying a tipsy Joey back to the car and escorting her back to the hotel. Subsequent paparazzi sightings of the couple allegedly out on dates were met with silence with neither parties confirming the relationship.
