Daniel Wu just served up the ultimate throwback on his Instagram page. Popping up a photo of himself squeezed next to three of Hong Kong cinema’s biggest stars, I’m sure you won’t have any trouble identifying everyone. But if you need any hints, the caption hilariously says it all.

Here’s another oldie but goodie someone just sent me. Not sure when this was taken maybe 10-15 years ago judging by how much hair I had? Jackie Chan, Andy Lau and Tony Leung absolute legends! #backintheday”. Absolute legends indeed! I certainly have fond childhood memories watching classic “cops and robbers” flicks from all four. From Jackie Chan and Daniel’s New Police Story collaboration to Andy La uand Tony Leung’s Infernal Affairs which by far is still one my favourites, there’s no escaping these superstars if you’re talking about Hong Kong classics!

Unfortunately, it’s been a long while since we’ve seen any collaborations between them. But the good news is that Andy and Tony have already completed filming their upcoming project East Side Stories aka Once Upon a Time in Hong Kong last year. Here’s hoping we’ll see everyone working with each other once again soon!

Meanwhile, look out for Daniel in Disney+’s upcoming series American Born Chinese where he plays Chinese mythology’s legendary Monkey King – Sun Wukong. American Born Chinese is an action fantasy series about a teenager who accidentally finds himself entangled in a battle between the gods of Chinese mythology all whilst trying to balance fitting into his American high school with his immigrant home life.
