On January 30, Macau police revealed through a presscon that a certain Chen (49 years old) and Cai (34 years old) have been recently arrested. The two are suspected of engaging in illegal gambling operations and money laundering but refused to cooperate with the investigation. Police believe the case to be related to casino tycoon Alvin Chau’s (周焯华) case.
It can be remembered that the Sun City case involving Alvin Chau who was among 11 people arrested in China last November shocked the industry. Actress Ady An’s businessman husband Levo Chan (Chen Ronglian 陈荣炼) who is CEO of junket operator Tak Chun Group as well as Pace Wu’s boyfriend Ji Xiaobo (纪晓波) were reportedly among the names also targeted by authorities.
Police say Chen mainly controlled the illegal online gambling operation of the group while Cai assisted in related activities. The two have been transferred to the procuratorate for investigation. Although not fully named, Chen is believed to be Ady’s husband Levo Chan. With reports of the arrest, Ady An’s manager declined to comment on the artist’s personal affairs. Ady An has also kept silent. The actress relocated from Taiwan to Macau after marrying Levo Chan in 2017. They have two kids together.

Many of them got away with such activities for so long as they were untouchable… Now they had better be careful otherwise, they may ‘enjoy’ afew years in jail… their wife/partners will be fine as these tycoons hide lots of wealth outside their Country. So their family will be fine financially..

Don’t underestimate the Chinese police’s tenacity in recovering illegal wealth from abroad.

They can uncover but to get those assets frozen or transferred back is another matter… Since they have no jurisdiction in those Countries… I think Ady is fine… I bet after Alvin Chua was arrested…. Levo Chan time to make the needed arrangements. To be honest, I have no sympathy for him or Alvin Chua.
