
Hong Kong actress Nancy Wu has officially announced her departure from TVB after 22 years with the broadcaster. On February 4, the 44-year-old star shared an emotional post reflecting on change, courage, and new possibilities.
She wrote: “Today is the Start of Lichun, the beginning of a new year. 2026. A new beginning. A good beginning. Carrying courage, I will continue to charge forward in my work.” Nancy Wu revealed that she has decided to step out of her comfort zone and explore the world beyond what she has known for over two decades. She added, “I look forward to more new attempts, new creations, and new sparks.”
Expressing gratitude for her long cooperation with TVB and Shaw Brothers, Nancy Wu emphasized that while the form of collaboration may change, the support remains unchanged. “Thank you to TVB and the managers and colleagues at Shaw Brothers for your support and care over the past few years. Even if the way we work together is different, the support is still the same.” She also offered personal thanks to key individuals, writing: “Thank you, Miss Lok! Thank you, Kenneth!”
She concluded her message with warm wishes for the public: “Wishing everyone good health, peace, and happiness. May everyone have work, may the economy improve soon, and may all industries thrive.”
Nancy Wu joined TVB as part of the 18th Artist Training Class in 2004. Before graduating, she was handpicked to appear in Triumph in the Skies, a role that officially launched her acting career. She won the TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actress consecutively in 2015 and 2016, cementing her status as a top actress. Last October, Nancy Wu surprised fans by announcing her marriage to her surgeon boyfriend, Akin.
