Prince Chiu Responds to Affair Accusations: “I’m Not Someone Who Destroys Families”

Taiwanese singer Prince Chiu (Wang Zi) is caught in a major controversy after being accused of having an affair with former cheerleader Guoguo (Chiang Wei Lin), who has been married to fellow celeb Zack Fanchiang for three years.

Fanchiang publicly accused the two of “destroying a family” through an extramarital relationship. He accused them of pretending to be friends while secretly betraying him, writing that they must have felt “the bolder the disguise, the safer it seemed.” Fanchiang said those around them either helped conceal the truth or were unknowingly used, leaving his trust “trampled” and himself “a clown wearing a green hat.” Though devastated, Fanchiang thanked his family and friends for their support and announced he will pursue legal action.

In response, Wang Zi issued a lengthy public statement, apologizing for the distress caused but denying that he intentionally broke up a marriage. He wrote, “I am not someone who destroys relationships. This was not a long-hidden affair, nor was there any improper intent.”

Wang Zi explained that he became “too concerned” while comforting Guoguo during her divorce discussions, admitting he crossed the line from a listener to something more. “It was out of sympathy and care,” he said, “but it was not expressed in the right way. A mistake is a mistake, no excuses.” He ended his statement by apologizing to Fanchiang, Guoguo, their families, and his disappointed fans.

Meanwhile, Guoguo confirmed she was in divorce talks but claimed the negotiations broke down due to “unreasonable financial demands.” She denied Fanchiang’s accusations, saying his claims “don’t match the facts,” but did not directly address whether she had an affair.
