It was a night of glamour and elegance as China’s stars gathered in Shanghai for VOGUE Forces Of Fashion 20th Anniversary Gala. While there were criticisms over the lineup’s not having enough A-listers, which was “explained” to be due to a number of celebs having to pass due to busy schedules, the red carpet still sparkled with appearances from Liu Yifei, Yang Mi, Eileen Gu, Zhou Dongyu, Zhang Jingyi, Nazha, Ouyang Nana, Zhang Linghe, Gong Jun and many more.

Liu Yifei, who appeared last on the red carpet, captivated the crowd with a vintage look in an Elie Saab gown adorned with intricate floral embroidery. Yet amidst wardrobe mishaps like her diamond bracelet slipping off and the magazine’s editorial director Rocco Liu accidentally stepping on her dress, she handled each situation with remarkable poise, which has since gone viral. Sharing the spotlight also beside Rocco is none other than Yang Mi who turned heads in two show-stopping outfits – a black mini dress that highlighted her signature long legs, and later, a gold strapless gown accented with black velvet. However, the ladies having zero interaction throughout the night also sparked speculation that things are not well between.
Nevertheless, China’s fashion galas are often a celebration of color and texture, unlike typical red carpets that lean toward black gowns and minimalist tones. The Shanghai event was no exception, featuring a a rich palette that’s vibrant and unapologetically expressive.
