iQIYI’s upcoming historical romance drama The Legend of Rosy Clouds (云秀行) has finally dropped its first wave of posters, ahead of rumors of an October 2025 release. It brings together an all-star cast led by Li Yitong and Zeng Shunxi. Deng Wei plays the second lead while the rest of the cast also includes familiar faces like Dai Luwa, Riley Wang, Cheng Hongxin, Tian Jiarui, Jian Yuxi and Fan Jingwen.
But the road to release isn’t without bumps. It is said to be loosely adapted from the Japanese novel The Story of Saiunkoku, and the drama has been “shelved” for the past two years. On the bright side, it looks like many cast members have “leveled up” since filming wrapped as they now lead dramas of their own thanks to their rising popularity.
In The Legend of Rosy Clouds, Li Yitong plays Fan Yun, the first female official of the fictional Caiyun Kingdom, fighting for women’s right to take the civil service exams. Zeng Shunxi plays Emperor Qi Zheng, who masks sharp strategy behind a façade of laziness, while Deng Wei takes on a double role as the gentleman Zheng Shi by day and the villain Lou Qiyan by night.

The plot already sounds super unexciting 😑 like three ppl with three different goals, n no overarching plot for these three but a love story? N while LYT can act, I’m yet to find she can do chemistry with anyone 😑 even with LYN, the chemistry was not sizzling, everyone is more into LYN n SYE, n i don’t think his chemistry with SYE was that good either, but that just show love story isn’t LYT strong suit. But this year has been quite bad in term of good drama, it might do well, considering currently it’s dead water lol 😂 u know TJOL is 💩 when it barely makes sound when the water is that dead 🤦♀️

Haha, The Journey of Legend is indeed a deep philosophical title, so profound I almost fell asleep! 😴 But seriously, love story isnt LYTs strong suit? Who knew! 🤔 Maybe the plot being super unexciting is her way of keeping things real? As for the drama names, lets be honest, Legend of… is the Netflix of Chinese drama titles, reliable and never fails to disappoint in creativity. 📺😂
