When it comes to his daughter Phoebe Miu, the apple clearly doesn’t fall far from the tree. After working behind the camera as a photographer, veteran actor Michael Miu and wife Jaime Chik’s eldest daughter Phoebe has followed in the footsteps of her famous dad after all. Mind you she’s doing it in her own terms. Not wanting to ride on her parent’s coattails, the 34-year-old photographer turned actor has instead opted to strike out on her own, launching her acting career in the US with the American sci-fi series Upload as one of her first gigs.
As Yang, a poor resident in the virtual world where part of Upload takes place in, Phoebe says what was supposed to be a two-day gig ended up turning into six years of having something to come back to. Now that the franchise is entering its final season, the actress says she’s forever grateful to everyone she’d worked with, the friends she’d made and for all the laughs.
Whether she’ll go back to Hong Kong and perhaps even do a collab with her dad remains to be seen. However, she did say in the past that she wasn’t particularly keen on working with him. “I don’t want to work with him because my personal life is personal and work is work. He’s popular, but he’s also my dad, so it’s different.”
