Chinese BL drama Revenged Love (逆爱), which currently airs outside of China, has suddenly stopped broadcast, leaving viewers confused. The show’s creator and BL novel author, Chai Jidan, has now addressed the situation, clarifying that the suspension is part of a “normal content adjustment” and not related to any controversies involving the cast.

According to Chai Jidan, the drama’s team is reworking episodes 11 and 12 due to controversy over previous editing. She assured fans that this involves translation and dubbing work, which will require more time. “Please don’t panic,” she wrote on social media.
She said, “This is just a normal content adjustment. Because the previous editing sparked some controversy, episodes 11 and 12 are being reviewed and reworked to present the best possible version. Since the adjustments involve translation and dubbing work, we need a bit more time! We’re already working hard on it—please give us some time, okay? 🙏🙏🙏 Please don’t attack the innocent actors or production team. The official broadcast time will definitely be announced within this week, so please don’t believe in rumors. Only trust official sources.”
Worries Over Intimate Scenes Being Cut
The vague explanation around the previously edited version that has drawn “controversy” has triggered more questions than answers. Some worry that intimate scenes will be taken out, with “Don’t cut the intimate scenes” trending on Chinese social media. Others believe the suspension is a deliberate publicity stunt—especially after Chai Jidan’s earlier bold promise to air the show in full, regardless of outside pressure. Adding to the frustration, the announcement that Monday and Tuesday episodes won’t be released as scheduled came late on July 13, with a more detailed explanation only posted the next morning.
Chai Jidan has also highlighted the show’s financial constraints, describing Revenged Love as a low-budget production. Its status as a BL drama with high popularity but minimal backing may have made it vulnerable to both censorship and industry pushback. But fans are rallying to ensure that the show continues to air.
