Rising actor Tian Xuning is trending again lately due to buzz about his next project. One Day in July 七月的一天 led by Shen Yue and Edward Chen Haosen has kicked off filming in Xiamen. The upcoming drama produced by Huace is adapted from the webtoon July Found by Chance by Moo Ryoo, just like it’s K-drama counterpart Extraordinary You. Tian Xuning joins One Day in July as Wan Tianqi who is instrumental in helping the heroine recognise that she’s living inside a fantasy comic world.
One Day in July Plot
In the story, Ah Qi discovers she’s a character playing a role inside a comic book and was destined to die. In order to save herself, she makes a deal with Edward Chen’s Number 13 to try to change the plot. But their actions trigger the collapse of the writer’s world and sets off the collective awakening of the characters.
From Supporting Role to Second Lead?
Tian Xuning’s casting, in particular, has drawn a lot of buzz as the actor’s being touted the “top traffic star” this summer due to his popularity following his breakout role as Chi Cheng in the BL drama Revenged Love. This being his newest project, some fans weren’t too happy to learn that he plays a supporting role in the series. However, it’s worth noting here that the actor signed on for One Day in July before the popularity of Revenged Love. And the cast announcement has him listed just below both leads, which has many wondering if his role, which was thought to be the third male lead, is now the second lead alongside actress Ke Ying. Actor Wang Junhao, who’s a Huace artist just like Tian Xuning, has joined the cast in a special starring role.
Tian Xuning has gained more than 1.08 million followers in a single week. Given all the attention, fans have even joked that the production definitely saved themselves tons in advertising dollars and publicity costs.
