On June 16, Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin announced the birth of her second child. Alongside a sweet photo of a tiny hand in hers, the 42-year-old star shared heartfelt words and a poem by Kim McMillen that resonated deeply with her current state of mind as a mother of two.
The poem speaks of self-love and inner peace. “When I truly began to love myself, I realized all pain and emotional struggles were signals I was living against my true self,” she quoted. “Today I know this is called ‘authenticity.’” She went on to reflect on the meaning of respect. She added, “When I truly began to love myself, I understood how rude it is to impose my will on others—even if that person is me, and even if the timing isn’t right. Today I know this is called ‘respect.’”
Ariel Lin expressed that she couldn’t help but share the poem with fans. The star of It Started with a Kiss has kept much of her family life private. Ariel Lin married businessman Charles Lin in 2014 and gave birth to their first child, a baby girl, in 2021. And they’ve just welcomed a son in 2025. Many flooded her comment section with warm congratulations.
