Wang Zixuan Drops Out as Female Lead in “The Indescribable Town” After Bathroom Fall Injury

On June 11, actress Wang Zixuan has withdrawn from the filming of The Indescribable Town (她的瞳) following an injury. According to a statement by her studio, the 26-year-old actress slipped in the bathroom of her residence in the early morning of June 10, after wrapping for the day. The fall caused a significant lower back injury and aggravated an old condition. Doctors advised long-term rest and systematic treatment, making it impossible for her to continue with the physically demanding filming schedule.

Her Studio Confirms Wang Zixuan’s Withdrawal from the Drama

In their official statement, her studio wrote: “Wang Zixuan’s injury requires systematic treatment and prolonged rest to ensure full recovery. After sincere communication with the production team, we have made the difficult decision for her to withdraw from the drama. We sincerely thank the producers, director, and entire team for their understanding and support.”

Wang Zixuan’s lead role as Pei Lingling has now been recast with actress Xing Fei, who will need to reshoot nearly half a month’s worth of scenes. The Indescribable Town is adapted from a Jinjiang novel, which follows a spirited heroine with a loyal and devoted male lead, combining elements of suspense, fantasy, and romance. It would’ve paired her up with actor Huang Xiyan.

The studio also expressed their appreciation. They wrote: “We kindly ask for your understanding and hope everyone gives Wang Zixuan the space she needs to recover. We believe she will return to work in even better form.” While fans are supportive, many can’t help but lament the lost opportunity for a female lead role.
