Word on the street is that Stephen Chow’s highly anticipated comeback film Shaolin Women’s Soccer 女足 has wrapped filming. Purported to be the spin-off to his 2001 megahit movie Shaolin Soccer, the story which combines Shaolin Kung Fu with football elements, revolves around a women’s football team and its players who all love the game and who overcame great difficulties in pursuit of their dreams. Knowing Stephen Chow’s penchant for comedy, I’m sure he’ll have us all in stitches in no time.
Despite the anticipation, not much has been revealed about the film with all the deets under tight wraps. That didn’t stop the rumourmill from speculating though. Some of the names it has churned out include Zhang Yixing and Zhang Xiaofei. Meanwhile, Dilraba Dilmurat who was rumored to be a guest star recently trended as she reportedly wrapped filming. It has netizens wondering if she’s actually the star of the show since filming took three months. Mind you nothing’s been made official so take this with a grain of salt.
500 Drone Birthday Welcome
Speaking of Reba, June 3 marks the actress’ 33rd birthday so her fan club naturally pulled out all the stops to celebrate it in style. According to reports, a 500 drone performance was planned for midnight last night (June 2) in both Shenzhen and Hangzhou to welcome in her birthday with a bang. However, the actress supposedly finished filming early might have thrown a little wrench into the scheduled midnight show.
Despite efforts from club members to move the drone show earlier in Shenzhen, it is reported that the actress already left the location. But, after learning about her birthday “surprise”, Reba promptly headed back to the Shenzen filming location wearing the colours of her fan club to watch her birthday surprise with the crew.
